Teaching Your Toddler welcomes Melissa Ridolfi, Vice President of Retirement and College Leadership at Fidelity Investments to talk about ways parents of young kids can prepare to save for their kids’ college education.
Almost one-third of parents aren’t sure what to expect in terms of the cost of college by the time their kids are ready to enroll but, surprisingly, 77% of parents do save for college and believe college is worth the expense.
In this interview, Ridolfi shares several ways parents can save without taking big chunks of money such as using credit cards that give you cash back into your 529 savings plan or encouraging friends and family to give gifts of money into 529 funds in lieu of gifts for kids.
